Russian frozen fish is exported to 41 countries in the world, with a focus on China, South Korea, the Netherlands and Japan. These countries account for 92% of Russia's frozen fish exports.
In 2018, Russia’s largest sales market for frozen fish was China, which accounted for 47% of exports, and the export volume reached 1.2 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 32% over the previous year, or an increase of 295 million U.S. dollars.
Russia's second largest export market for frozen fish is South Korea, with an export value of US$611 million, an increase of 2% over 2017, or an increase of US$14 million. South Korea accounts for 24% of all Russian frozen fish exports.
The Netherlands is the third largest market for frozen fish in Russia, accounting for 11% of Russia's frozen fish exports, which is equivalent to US$275 million. Compared with 2017, the export volume in 2018 increased by 14%, or an increase of 34 million U.S. dollars.
The fourth largest market for frozen fish sales in Russia is Japan. The supply to Japan accounted for 10% of Russia's frozen fish exports, and the export value was US$267 million, an increase of 62% year-on-year, or an increase of US$102 million.
