In FY20, the value of exports in rupees increased by 0.16%, but the volume fell by 7.39%.

In FY19, India’s seafood exports amounted to 1,392,559 tons, with an export value of US$6.728 billion. The Marine Products Export Development Authority of India (MPEDA) stated that India successfully exported 1,289,651 tons of seafood, which was not severely impacted by the epidemic. However, orders for major export areas have decreased or slowed down. At the same time, the daily fishing volume on the west coast has also decreased. One reason for the decrease in exports.

India’s frozen shrimp export value was US$4.889 billion, accounting for 73.21% of the total export value, and the export volume accounted for 50.58% of the total export volume, an increase of 6.04% and 6.2% respectively year-on-year.
