Red Sea security concerns continue to affect cargo ship transport
Red Sea security concerns continue to affect cargo ship transport
On January 26, SeafoodNews, at the "Global Seafood Market Conference" (GSMC) hosted by the National Fisheries Association (NFI), the head of the organizing party, Richard Barry, said that the Red Sea issue has been in the headlines since the end of last year. And as the Houthis continue to attack cargo ships, these 1 issues continue.

Bill Duggan, head of Eskesen Advisory, said that large container ships had to reduce the number of containers on board and use other means of transportation. The cost of all operators has risen sharply, which is another cost that has been passed on.

But have prices actually gone up?

We haven't seen container prices rise yet, but it's coming, and now the bigger problem is delays, 65 percent of the ships that would normally pass through the Suez Canal have turned to the Cape of Good Hope, and traffic is increasing on the West Coast of the United States, as well as the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
